Jeanne M. (Rohner) Walker, 82, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at Loretto. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Convent High School and received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland. Jeanne taught at Fairmount School and worked at Marshall's in Fairmount for 10 years before retiring in 1991. She was a former communicant of St. Patrick's Church and enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, John "Dixie", in 1981; and brother, Richard Rohner. Surviving are her son, John (Michele) of Collegeville, PA; daughters, Margaret Walker-Vona (Sal) and Maureen (Brian) Hohl, both of Camillus, and Suzanne Payne of Syracuse; grandchildren, Courtney, Chelsea, Connor and Cameron Walker, Caitlin, Daniel and Lindsay Vona, Kelley, Brittany and Gabrielle Hohl and John Payne; great-granddaughter, Ellison Waldau; sister, Carol (Paul) Riddler of Springhill, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Kay Rohner of Libertyville, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, September 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 22 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Jeanne will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. The family would like to thank the Loretto Cunningham 9th Floor staff for their compassion and care to Jeanne. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Loretto Foundation, 1305 Nottingham Rd., Jamesville, NY 13078.
