Anita Jo Parrish was born on February 8, 1925, in Post, Texas, to Joe and Thelma (Palmer) Parrish. The oldest of 5 children, (her sisters Jean, Vera, Alta, and brother Don), she attended school in Texas until the family moved to El Reno, OK, where she graduated from high school.

After high school, Anita became a secretary and soon went to work at Tinker Air Force Base, where she met her husband of 60 years, Charles Cross. Anita retired from Tinker as an executive secretary.

Anita and Charlie were charter members of Country Estates Baptist Church in Midwest City and made it their church home. Together they spent wonderful years enjoying their cabin at Lake Texhoma, traveling the US and the world, and spending time with family and friends.

Anita was the most thoughtful and giving person one would ever know; she loved with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie, and her sisters Jean Arnold and Alta Brady Williams. She is survived by her sister, Vera Lowder Lakin, and her brother, Don (Carol) Parrish. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews--Richard (Cathy Kass) Roby, Janet (Bob) Callaway, Robert Tulloh, Niki (Roger Young) Brady, Cheryl (Ric) Swanson, and Kristy Parrish, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service for Anita will be at 1:00 PM Friday September 19, at the Country Estates Baptist Church in Midwest City, with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
