Funeral services for Mr. William Allison "Bill" Ivey Sr.,66, will be held October 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the chaple of Williams Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Bob Walk and the Rev. Luke Moncrief will officiate. Burial will take place in West View Cemetery. NOTE! Mr. William Ivey's remains were transfered to Heritiage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Ivey died October 6, in an Atlanta hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Baldwin County, a veteran of World War II, and was owner and operator of Ivey Electric Welding Service, He was a member of the American Legion and the Oconee River Buskers Square Dance Club and the Georgia State Square Dancers Association. He was also a member of the Georgia Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Juanita Prosser Ivey of Milledgeville; one son, Mr. W.A. "Billy" Ivey Jr., five sisters, Mrs. Mary Henry of Dublin; Mrs Edna Harris, Mrs. Drucilla Weaver, Mrs. Myra Towns and Mrs. Gloria Cofield, all of Milledgeville; five brothers, Mr. Joe Ivey of Bonaire, Mr. M.E. Ivey, Mr. James "Tiny" Ivey, Mr. O.E. Ivey, Mr. Robert Ivey, all of Milledgeville; two grandchildren.
The family will be receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m. October 7th.
Williams Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
