Norman L. Larson, 88, Eau Claire, Wis., formerly of Turtle Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1911, to Odin and Mina (Gisness) Larson at Clayton. He was baptized and confirmed at United Lutheran Church, Prairie Farm. He married Inez Ausing May 27, 1939, at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, Minn. They resided in Minneapolis until moving to Turtle Lake in 1948. He worked as a plant manager for Yellow River Supply until retirement, when he built several houses in Turtle Lake. Due to failing health he and his wife moved to Eau Claire in 1989.
An active person in village affairs, he served on the Turtle Lake Village board for 12 years, serving as president for two terms. He also served on the Akers Cemetery board for several years. He and his wife were members of the Zion Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, and the Peace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Barry (Beverly) of Oregon, Wis.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Craig; a daughter, Janyce; brothers, Orville and Ernest; and sisters, Inga Soltau and Clarice Landskov.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 22, from Peace Lutheran Church, Rev. Mark Schulz officiating with interment at Akers Cemetery, Town of Prairie Farm.
