KAYSVILLE--Dean Martin Sanders, 64, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 1992 in Kanab, Utah of heart failure.

He was born September 1, 1928 in Newton, Utah, a son of Martin Reginald and Sylvia Pearl Benson Sanders. He graduated from North Cache High School in 1946 and joined the U.S. Navy at age 18. He married Elthea Leatham, June 19, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. He had lived in Kaysville the past 33 years and wintered in Kanab the past four years.

He was owner-operator of Kaysville Glass Company and Sanders Western Auto. He was a member of the Kaysville 1st LDS Ward and had served in the Bishopric. He also served on the Kaysville Stake High Council, and spent over 35 years in Scouting. He received the Silver Beaver Scouting Award. He was presently serving as president of the Kanab Lions Club and received the Lion of the Year Award this year. He was a member of the Kaysville Rotary Club for over 15 years, the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, and the Mormon Battalion.

He loved giving service to his community, his church and his family.

Survived by his wife of Kaysville; six sons and two daughters: Darrell Sanders, Robert Sanders, Sherman Sanders, John Sanders, Charles Sanders, and Joy Sanders, all of Kaysville; Mrs. Richard (Dona) Davidson, Farmington; Kelly Sanders, Hermiston, Oregon; and 14 grandchildren; also survived by five brothers, Marlin Sanders, of Roy; Roy Sanders of Rose Park; Doyle Sanders of Sandy; Odell Sanders of Kaysville; and Don Sanders of Syracuse. He was preceded in death by a sister, Delfa Beimer, and one brother, Reginald Junior Sanders.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 1992, 11:00 a.m., at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street. Friends may call Sunday from 7-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, and Monday at the tabernacle form 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
