Portland – Rodney L. Elliott, 59, of Oxford, died on December 7th, 2007 at Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was born October 19th, 1948 in Lewiston, the son of Roger L. and Christine J. (Edwards) Elliott.

He served his country proudly in the US Navy, 2 years active and 4 years reserve.

He worked for over 20 years at Tambrands as a head mechanic. He married Janet Vachon on August 18th, 1990.

Rodney was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. Among his many interests, he especially enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping, traveling, animals, spending time at their timeshares, visiting friends both in person and on the internet.

He was very proud of his family and children. He always helped others in need in whatever way possible and opened his home and heart to many, he will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Janet of Oxford; daughters Trishia Hansen of Lewiston, Lacey Barcelou of Greene; son Mark Elliott and his wife Jennifer of Mechanic Falls; his mother Christine Edgecomb; sister Deanna Marken and husband Jerry of Lewiston; brothers Michael Edgecomb and wife Debra of Lewiston; Jeffrey Edgecomb of Lewiston; stepsons Jeremy and David Giasson; grandchildren Jacob Noyes, Emily and Joseph Elliott, Alexia and Kristyn Barcelou, Ryan and Brittany Giasson; nieces Melanie, Brandi, Heather, Amanda, Alicia, Amber; nephew Michael Jr.; and other beloved relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Roger; stepfather Frank L. Edgecomb; an. mother-in-law Laura Vachon.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 7 pm on Monday at Funeral Alternatives. A funeral service will follow MONDAY evening at 7 PM. Burial will be private at Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rodney’s memory to Hope Haven Gospel Mission 209 Lincoln Street, Lewiston, ME 04240 or the American Heart Association 51 Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074.
