Funeral Services for Mr. LeRoy Reed, Sr., 88, Daytona Bch, who passed on Sept. 12, 2014, will be 10 AM Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 - 8 PM today (Thurs, Sept 18) at RJ Gainous Funeral Home and from 8:30 AM until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Mr. Reed was born to the late Eddie Reed and Clennie Victoria Perkins Reed in Daytona Bch, FL on March 5, 1926. He attended the former Campbell High School. He served in the U.S. Army, and U.S. Marines, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years. He was preceded in death by a son: LeRoy Reed, Jr. and a grandson: Don Bryant. He is survived by: a devoted wife of 39 years, Louise Reed; a son: Richard "Ricky" Reed Sr., Ocala, FL; daughters: Fleeter Reed, Estella Sankey, Schemetta (Riordan) Davis, Pauletta Wright, Vicky Shannon, Darlene (Larius) Smith, all of Daytona Bch; a daughter-in-law: Theresa Reed, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Maurice (Lynn) Smith, LeRoy (Desirae) Reed III, Nina (Horace) Giddens, Daniel Reed, Walter Sankey, Nikki White, Katrina Wright, Kiesha Byrd, Niyah Johnson, Broderick Shropshire, LiRoy Reed, all of Daytona Bch; Richard "Ricky" Reed Jr., Jacksonville, FL; Nichelle Sankey, Palm Coast, FL; Latosha (Harry) Reed-Gatling, Charlotte, NC; Nicole (Victor) Reed-Johnson, Atlanta, GA; Jacquelyn Sankey, Virginia Beach, VA; foster children: Claude "Champ" Cruse, Everette "Chubby" Cruse, Deborah (Harry) Cruse and Diane Linda Cruse, all of Baltimore, MD, Jaki Johnson, Waycross, GA; special nieces: Elizabeth Gray, Valdosta, GA, Clara (James) Williams, Newport News, VA, Anita Diane (Steve) Grant, Jacksonville, FL, Kathy (Willis) Williams, Daytona Bch; nephew: Edward Miles, Cleveland, OH; 23 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and many, many friends.
