Mrs. Sarah Goodall died at her residence in this county, Wednesday, December 22nd, aged 65 years.

Mrs. Goodall was born in Mercer county, Ky., September 27th, 1810, came to Missouri in 1826 and was married this city, September 27th, 1827 to Job Goodall. With the exception of a few months residence in St. Louis and about five years in Randolph county, Mrs. Goodall resided in this county. About twenty years ago she lost her husband, and the care of a large family devolved upon her. She was a woman of wonderful industry and energy and sound business judgment. She raised and educated well, eight sons and one daughter, who is the wife of Mr. James Gordon of Vernon county. Mrs. Goodall was a woman of marked force of character, doing whatever her hands found to do with rare intelligence, and with great steadiness of purpose. She comprehended fully her duties as wife, mother and friend, and discharged them well.

She was for many years a member of the Baptist Church, and was an active, living, humble christian. Her trust at all times in the Redeemer was steadfast and unwavering, and sustained her under all the trials and all afflictions she was called to endure, and they were not a few. And the same faith which comforted her all through the battle of life, did not forsake her when she was called to pass through the valley of the shadow of death, for her last words one earth were, "Lord if it thy will, take me to thyself, for I am ready and willing to go," and then fell asleep in Jesus.
