Biographical Register of the Officers and Graduates of the U.S , Volume 4 - Military History -Cadet at
the Military Academy, July 1, 1881, to June 14, 1885, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army
to Second Lieut., 9th Infantry, June 14, 1885.
"Capt. Frank DeWitt Ramsey, whose critical illness was noted in last weeks' INDEX, expired in Washington at 10:30 p. m., Thursday last, after a weeks illness of pneumonia. It was fitting that the remains of this gallant soldier, who had done valiant service for his country in China and the Philippines, after his wanderings around the globe, should be brought here for the last long sleep in the cemetery within sight of the little village of Lawyersville, where he first saw the light 43 years ago. The military funeral was one that will long be remembered in Cobleskill. The special train of three coaches conveying the remains from Washington arrived shortly before noon. In the funeral party were: Mrs. Ramsey, her two sons, Miss Grace Runkle, a cousin of the deceased, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Ramsey and Miss Margaret Ramsey of Albany, Rev. John Van Schaick, Jr., of Washington, and representatives from the regular army, a detail from the Spanish-American War veterans, Co. B Tenth Regiment, N. G. N. Y., officers of the Christian Brothers Academy, Gartland's Band and many prominent citizens of Albany ..." ["The Cobleskill Index" (Cobleskill, NY), Jan. 25, 1906, Page 1]
