"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie." wrote Tenneva Jordan. If that's true, then Cathleen Gregory was the epitome of the definition of the word mother. She and her husband Ken raised five children. She guided her children through life with a gentle hand and taught them the morals and ethics that have helped them to become the people they are today. She was also a friend, confidant and mother to every child that had the fortune to enter her life. A loving and enduring marriage and children possessing upstanding character are just a part of her legacy.

Cathleen was a generous and selfless woman who always put the needs of everyone else before her own. She will be remembered in part for her integrity, kindness, honesty, and loving heart.

Cathleen Corliss Gregory died Tuesday, August 9th at Swedish Hospital in Seattle after a four year battle with lung cancer. She beat the odds given to her by the doctors, and showed us all what an incredibly strong and courageous woman she truly was. She was 52.

Born in Renton on September 22, 1952, Cathy Gregory was a life long resident of Seattle and Shoreline. She graduated from Lincoln High School and later studied early childhood education. She taught pre-school at First Lutheran Pre-School in Shoreline. Although illness kept her from her classroom this past year, she is deeply missed by her students and co-workers.

Cathy is survived by her husband Kenny; her daughter, Christina Nelson of Mountlake Terrace; her son, James Gregory of Shoreline; her daughter, Jennifer Gregory of Pullman; her son, Jeffery Gregory of Shoreline; her daughter, Kalynn Gregory of Shoreline; and her granddaughters Nicole Nelson and Arianna Gregory.
