The community of Edgewater, Florida, felt a great loss on Sept 9, 2014, when Robert Eugene Overton passed away at Bert Fish Medical Center, due to complications from an infection. Robert Overton was born March 17, 1932, Cainsville, MO.

Robert Overton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 Years, Betty Jean Smith Overton. He is survived by sister, Sara Overton Anderson, sister, Reva Overton Thompson, daughter, Mary Beth Kinsaul,
son, David E. Overton, grandson, Robert D. Overton, granddaughter, Shannon Chaney and loving companion, Iris Sefried.

He served in US Army, where he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, during the Korean conflict. He attended Rockhurst College, Kansas City, MO, and continued his career with United Telephone/Sprint until he retired
in 1994. They moved to Edgewater, FL, where he was a very active participant in the community and church. He enjoyed boating, fishing and designing custom fishing
tackle for friends and family.
