Walter and his wife (my aunt Ruth) had five children in less than five years. They have many grandchildren and I presume great-grandchildren by now. Walter worked as a carpenter for the City of Columbus. Although he had very bad asmtha, he did not let it interfere with his work life: he sat up in a chair to sleep many nights, so that he could breathe, and still sleep, and be able to go to work the next day. Their house was always in excellent shape as he was a very hard worker and a talented "finish" carpenter. Word is that Walter was in a band in the 1920s or 1930s. Walter's family was also very tall, which is noteworthy as both sides of my family is short. Several of Walter's grandchildren were exceptionally tall.

Update: Thanks to Chuck Johnston for contributing Walter's middle name as well as the name of his parents.
