War of 1812 veteran

Ben's parents were John Wiggins and Polly Nichols from Jamaica, Queens Co., NY and he was named for his grandfather. The elder Wiggins moved to Newburgh, NY abt 1760, then moved to Stillwater, NY by Georges, 1788 birth, then Ben's brother's began moving to Westenville/Rome area to which his parents followed between 1801-10.

His 9 siblings were: Jacob, Anning, George Nelson, Cadwell, Hannah LANE, John Jr, Mary “Polly”, Nancy, Betsy. one brother, George stays living in Saratoga County. His sisters have not yet been found, surnames could be Honeywell, Black, and Crouch. Also not known is when his mother died and if she is buried in Saratoga Co. or Oneida Co. Still to be researched is if Ben's father would remarry 3 more times, possibly to a widow Hannah Fisher

Geo. married Polly Potter, the dau. of Geo. (born England) and Sarah Roger, her widower father living with them in later years, they live near George Wiggins brother and father. 1843 he is running for county assessor in Dist 3, The 1855 NY state census lists both Geo. and Polly as born in Saratoga County (1788).

Ben's 1858 Will is on file in Oneida Wills, Vol 0012-0013, 1852-1859, pg 326-7, attached here, listing Polly getting his house/barn, and a yearly income, also names all children
