Douglas Cantrill was a Police Officer for the City Police Department in Davis, California for just one month. He died in the line of duty at age 23. He had spent two years in Law Enforcement altogether. He stopped a man and woman who was acting suspicious in a Residential area. They were apprehended but never charged with murder, due to lack of evidence. There was no witnesses to the shooting. They managed to struggle with the Police Officer and take possession of his weapon, shooting him with it. He was survived by his wife and infant child.
