Funeral services for John Purvis Guillot, Sr., age 67 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Unity Baptist Church, Cotton Valley, LA with Bro. James Alderman officiating. Burial will be in the Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary.
John, a resident of Cotton Valley for 35 years, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at his home. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was a retired oil field construction worker. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mavis Andrews Guillot; daughters, Tammy Sue Holtzclaw of Katy, TX; Tracey Lynn Crank and husband, Ricky of Cotton Valley, LA; sons, John P. Guillot, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth of Shongaloo, LA; Russell Glen Guillot and wife, Linde of Haynesville, LA; Robert Scott Guillot and wife, Lisa of Strong, AR; sisters, Mary Langlois of Erwinville, LA; Dean Donacricha of Port Allen, LA; brothers, P. W. Guillot and wife, Lula Mae of Plaucheville, LA; Troy Guillot and wife, Betty of Alexandria, LA; Cecil Guillot of Alvin TX; Irwin Guillot and wife, Karen of Erwinville, LA; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
