VALLEY, AL - Mrs. Imogene "Jean" Spear Williams, 86, of Valley died Tuesday, 16 Sep 2014 at her residence in Fairfax.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, 19 Sep 2014 at Fairfax United Methodist Church in Valley with Rev. Ian Conerly officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, 18 Sep 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fairfax United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Terri Jean Holman, and son-in-law, Scotty Holman, of Valley; a brother, Austin Edward Spear of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Born 13 Apr 1928, in Lanett, AL, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late William Chester Spear and Lena McGlon Spear. She went to elementary school at LaFayette Lanier and graduated from Valley High School. Mrs. Williams worked at Langdale Mill, Valley Bowl and at the Lanett Recreational Department. She worked with the Lanett Hobby Club and organized bus and cruise tours. Mrs. Williams was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Lamar "Bud" Williams; sisters, Katherine Wright, Helen Spear and Ruby Nix; and brothers, Oscar Spear, Homer Spear, Ralph Spear and William Chester "Pete" Spear.

Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Williams' memory to Fairfax United Methodist Church, 901 Boulevard, Valley, AL 36854.
