Edward Arnold Rowe, 73, Lenexa, Kan.,, died Saturday, September 13, 2014, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Celebration of Life at 10:30 a.m. Sat., Sept. 20, at Community Covenant Church, 15700 W. 87th St. Pkwy, Lenexa. Burial at Mount Moriah Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to our team (The Brainiacs) for the Kansas City Metro Walk to End Alzheimer's (http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk201 4/KS- HeartofAmerica?pg=team&fr_id=51 20&team_id=208416), Kaw Prairie Community Church, or Community Covenant Church. Ed was born July 31, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., to Mary M. (Blake) and Frederick H. Rowe, and was a lifelong Kansas City area resident. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1959 and attended Baker University. Ed served as a member of the United States Air Force Reserve, prior to beginning a career in sales. Ed was a faithful member and volunteer at Kaw Prairie Community Church, where he championed blood drives for the Community Blood Center. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Karen E. (Snyder) Rowe; his three children, Elizabeth S. Rowe of Prairie Village, Kan., Elaine K. (Doug) Scheelk of Shawnee, Kan., and Marcus E. (Missi) Rowe of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Grant, Greta and Greyden Gustafson; Samuel and Sophia Rowe; Liv Williams; and Mallory, Brooks and Steven (Heather) Scheelk and son Brody, brother, James F. Rowe and family. Ed gave us many gifts, most notably faith, love, laughter and music. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
