Joseph E. Rosania was born in Somerville and lived in North Plainfield for 30 years before moving to Flemington in 1980.

He was a 1933 graduate of Rutgers University and received a master's degree from Rutgers in 1935.

Mr. Rosania served in the Army during World War II from 1940 to 1946. He stayed in the active reserves, retiring in 1971 as a Lieutent Colonel from the Army Corps of Engineers.

He worked as a state-registered engineer for Johns-Manville Corp. in Manville until he retired in 1976 as superintendent of general services.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, the Rutgers University Alumni Association, a 50-year member of the Old Guard of Rutgers University, the Johns-Manville Quarter-Century Club, St Magdalen's Holy Name Society in Flemington, the Immaculata Leisure Club and Flemington American Legion Post 159.

Mr. Rosania lived at Prospect Hill Apartments, and died at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township at the age of 75.

He was survived by his widow, Alice Sutton Rosania; a daughter in Sergeantsville; a brother, Hugh of Coronado, Calif; two sisters, Lee Rogers of Somerville and Patricia Papen of Delaware.

His obituary was published in the Courier News on March 1, 1986.
