Reginald L. "Reggie" Miller, 82, of Route 22, West Chazy, New York, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

Reginald was born on the family homestead in Mooers Forks, New York, July 30, 1932, the son of the late Leonard and Leona Miller. He was the eldest of eight children.

While operating a dairy farm in the 50's he also worked at the Chazy Apple Orchard. In the 60's he was a security guard at the Mooers Forks Missile Base and then worked at Rose Bud Dairy. In 1967 he went to work for the Town of Mooers where he worked until his retirement in 1994.

Reginald was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was playing the violin. He learned how to play the violin from his mother Leona at the age of 7. From the late 40's to the time of his illness he played in numerous bands. He competed in a number of festivals winning many awards. He also composed two songs, Anita's Waltz and Leona's Reel. He loved playing for his family and his friends in Saranac, and at the VFW in Plattsburgh

Survivors included his second wife Sandra Miller; children, Kathleen and Michael Thomas of Twinsburg, Ohio, Alan and Darleen Miller of Mooers Forks, Darlene Meseck of Mooers Forks, and Dale and Kimberly Miller of Mooers; step-children, Patrick and Carolee Furnia of Keesville, New York, and Susan and Rick Lyman of Morrisonville, New York; grandchildren, Scott Thomas, Robbie Thomas, Adam and Jessica Miller, Eric and Nichole Miller and Neil Miller; step-grandchildren, Aaron Pekrul, Matthew Furnia, Jessica Bodah and Kelly Smart; great-grandchildren, Ava Miller, Maci Miller and Jacob Miller; special friend, Pauline Miller; brothers, Homer and Pauline Miller of North Port, Florida, Roger Miller and Lize Lavigne of Chazy, Lionel and Patricia Miller of North Jacksonville, Florida, Clarence and Debbie Miller of High Gate, Vermont, and Leeward and Monica Miller of Mooers; sisters, Irene and Donald LaValley of Chazy, and Annette and Raymond Hosler of Chazy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Anita Miller; and son-in-law, Wilfred Meseck.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2014, at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery in Mooers Forks.
