Ronnie Joe Kennedy (Joe) Left this world on April 19, 2014, born in Douglas, AZ April 15, 1948 to Stella M. Flahaute Kennedy and J.C. (Ike) Kennedy.

Ronnie Joe met and married his wife in 1970. He has three children he loved with all his heart and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved spending time with and loved them always. Ronnie's hobbies were rabbit hunting and cars as a teen, spending time at the Playas gun club, trap and skeet, hunting, camping, Tee Ball, Little League, Boy Scouts, working on cars, boating, car shows, geo caching, Western music, Oldies 60's-70's, water skiing, watching movies, guns and repair machinery items, trips to the Gila and many other things with his family. Ronnie lived in Deming for the first 19 yrs of his live. He graduated from Deming High School in 1966.

He joined the Navy in 1967 was a jet engine mechanic for Attack Squadron VA93 stationed at Leimore Navel Air Station, Leimore, CA upon his return from the Navy in 1971 he worked at Terry's Machine Shop and Farmers Inc. Then moved his family to Las Cruces, NM and went to NMSU in 1972 received a B.S. degree. NMSU hired Ron as an instructor before he graduated to teach Ag Ext Edu (farm shop). In Dec.1980 Ron went to work for Phelps Doge Inc. as a Maintenance Mechanic then Journeyman Machinist & Vibration tech 4. Ron belonged to the Playas Volunteer Fire Dept as a Wildland Fire Fighter and first responder 19yrs. After Phelps Dodge, Hidalgo Smelter closed he went to work for Ratheon on Johnston Atoll to destroy chemical weapons from WWII and Vietnam Era in Aug. 1999-2003. After Johnston Atoll closed he returned home and returned to work at Freeport McMoran as a Tech 5 and ran the tool room 2003-2009 and again 2011 to the time of his death. In 2009-2011 he went to school during the layoff at WNMU for computer repair and also family started a Tow and Auto Repair business at the time which was short lived.

Ronnie leaves behind his loving family and a lot of friends and life long friends some he made laugh and cried with some who say he made a difference in their lives from knowing him. There are no words to express what a kind, generous and giving person he was most of all he loved his family unconditionally and told them he loved them. He spent many hours with his grandkids and great-grandkids and taught them to respect others and help your neighbor and to love and care for one another. Ronnie Joe was a great and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all of us who lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife of 441/2 yrs, Rose E. Kennedy; three children, Melissa JC (Lisa) Ruddick and companion Keith Jacobs, Joseph B (Joe) Kennedy and companion Sherry Seay, Amy M. Kennedy and companion Arthur D. (DBo) Hodges; brother, Charles G. (Chop) Kennedy and wife Kaye; ten grandchildren, Beau Kennedy and wife Kacee, Shawnie R. Kennedy-Jimenez and husband Andrew, Bethanie Moore, Joseph L. and Kailynn Kennedy, Xavier and Isaiah Padilla, Adarrious, Quintin Hodges, Jake Zufelt; four great-grandchildren, Adrian (AJ), Azlynn, Alexiana and Aubrella Jimenez; two nieces, Jamie Yeager and husband Matt and family, Sheila Williams and Owen and family, Mark Kennedy, Robert Lewis and family and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marge and Ike Kennedy; one brother, James Curtis (Butch) Kennedy.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated Friday, May 2 at 1 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Floyd Robertson officiating. Last call will be performed by the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department. Concluding service inurnment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors. Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory.
