Theron M. Hall, 93, peacefully returned home to his heavenly father Friday, Sept. 12, 2014. He was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Eagar to Ashley Moroni and Laura Jane Burgess Hall.
After graduating from Round Valley High School, Theron served a mission in the Southern States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He married Wanda Gibbons Sept. 28, 1943, in the Mesa LDS Temple. Then as a newly married man, he served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He also served in many callings within the church including bishop and counselor in the Stake Presidency. For 43 years he served as the church welfare ranch manager.
In addition, he served on the State Selective Service Board, the city council and in many other community service capacities.
He was the owner of Apache Title for years and enjoyed serving the public. Outside of family, his favorite love was ranching and horses. People all around came to know his horses.
Theron is survived by his children: Laura Stradling, Theron M. (LouDawn) Hall Jr., Lynette (John) Beck, Margo (Russ) Roberts, Helen Chee Scarbrough and (Karen) Joshua Mark Hall; 40 grandchildren and 99 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Wanda Gibbons and Katherine Moore; his parents; sisters Lula and Irene; brothers Irvin, Ansel, Avard and Reed; daughter Janis Golding; son Richard Smith Hall; grandson Jason; and great-grandson Nathan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Downtown Chapel, with visitation from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Burnham Mortuary in St. Johns.
Interment will follow the funeral services at the St. Johns Cemetery.Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled arrangements.
