Ronald D. Crouse, Sr., 70, of North Baltimore, died at 11:45 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born on September 28, 1943, in Washington, IN, to the late Walter J. and Gladys (Street) Crouse. He married Anna (Spillman) on February 11, 1989, and she survives. Ron is also survived by his sons: Ronald D. Crouse, Jr. and Greg Crouse, both of IN; his step-sons: Kenneth (Jen) Apple of Findlay and Kip (Tammi) Apple of Arlington; his step-daughters: Kimela (Roger) Apple-Banks of Weston and Cynthia (Ted) Johnson of Bloomdale; his brothers: Harold (Angie) Crouse of IN, Gerald (Sue) Crouse of FL, Paul (Mary Sue) Crouse of Rising Sun, Ralph (Gladys) Crouse of IN and Richard (Betty) Crouse of IN; his sisters: Marilyn Gerken of Bowling Green, Maxine Clark of IN and Doris (Tom) Buzan of IN; his granddaughters: Erica and Alysia; 19 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter John Crouse; and his sisters: Carolyn Gutsell and Elanor Crouse. Ron retired from H.L. Crouse construction, where he was a pipe liner. He was a member of the North Baltimore F.O.E. #2633 and North Baltimore American Legion Post 539. He loved gardening, country music, fishing, but his greatest love was spending time with his family and his beloved grandsons, Nick and Jayden. Ron was a kind and tender loving man, who was always willing to help anyone. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor Jim Baney officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
