BREWER, Lloyd G. Of Flint, age 89, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, June 12, 2009 at Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint, Pastor Dave Hintz officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Central Church of the Nazarene Library. Visitation 6-8PM Wednesday and 2-8PM Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Brewer will be at the church from 10AM Friday until the time of the service. Lloyd was born in Flint, Michigan on February 17, 1920.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married for 60 years to Clara. Lloyd was a lifelong member of Central Church of the Nazarene. He was Church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and church Board Member. He sold men's clothing in the Flint area for over 40 years. He loved woodworking, gardening and traveling.
Surviving are wife, Clara; son, Walter (Robyn); granddaughter, Molly (Steven) Spodney; sister-in-law, Clara Brewer; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Hannah Brewer and brother, Franklin Brewer.
