George Dewey "Hotrod" Ballard, Jr was the son of the late George Dewey Sr. and Lenora Chaplin Ballard.

He was a member of the Living Faith Church of God and a former truck driver for Cruse Trucking in Upton, KY, Srygler Trucking in Horse Cave, KY and Sharp Transportation in Ethridge, TN.

Survivors include his wife Shelby Ballard, two daughters Cora Jean Stinson and Leslie Nicole Bell all of Glasgow, five grandchildren Chris Morgan, Zach Morgan, Noah Morgan, Nick Bell and Josh Bell, four sisters, Margaret Ballard, Faye Stinson, May Wheeler and Chris Reynolds, two brothers General Ballard and Jody Ballard and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services held September 18, 2014 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
