Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, IA, with Pastor David E. Jordon officiating.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street in Lake Mills, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills, IA.
Nina Corine (Ferley) Peterson was born July 7, 1911, in Silver Lake, Iowa to parents Albert and Gena (Sorbo) Ferley. She had three sisters and two brothers. Her sister, Gladys Neidlinger of Cando, North Dakota is the only survivor. She married Gilmer Peterson on March 22, 1936 and had three children, Duane (Diana), Selah, WA, Lorraine (Earl) Juveland, Lake Mills (Lorraine is deceased) and Darlene (David) Decklever, Ankeny, IA. Gilmer died in March of 1977. They farmed in the Lake Mills area and later, she worked at the Holiday Grill and was noted for her wonderful baked goods. She was also an excellent seamstress. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend.
Nina had 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly, but we must celebrate her 100 years.
