Mrs. Earline Bodiford Mims, 88, of Folkston, and formerly of Garden City, Ga., was carried home by the angels on Saturday, Aug 8, 2009 after a long illness.
She was born in Rocky Ford, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Alexander Mims, and her parents, George Wesley & Alma Mae Jackson Bodiford; 3 brothers, George E. "Peewee" Bodiford, Henry Bodiford, and Fred Bodiford.
She was a Day Care Worker at Woodlawn Baptist Church Day Care for many years, and a very active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, Church Training Union and the WMU, until moving to Folkston, Ga. She was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Tyrone W. Mims of Blackshear, Ga.; and a daughter, Mrs. Deloris Mims Tyson of Folkston, Ga; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug 10, at Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug 11, in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Martin and Rev. Matt Waldron, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
