Sandra Kay (Knox) Jacobs, 73, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her home in West Des Moines.
Sandy was born January 24, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Donald E. Knox and Emily (Heathcote) Knox. She attended Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton, Iowa, formerly Iowa College of the Blind, and graduated from East High School. Sandy went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Drake University after nine years of perfect attendance. She was a loving person and had a soft spot in her heart for animals.
Sandy is survived by her children, Kenneth Scott Fitch, June Kay (Todd) Canfield, and Joseph Raymond Jacobs; sister, Winnie Persinger; and her grandfurbaby, Womee Kay Canfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Raymond, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Kay; and her brothers, Donald and Bob Dale Knox.
Sandra lived 73 years, 7 months and 21 days.
