Nellie Jane (McClellan) Frazier
GATE CITY, Va. - Nellie Jane McClellan Frazier, 96, of Bellamy Road, East Carters Valley, went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning (Dec. 20, 2006) after a long illness while at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Kingsport.
She was born Sept. 20, 1910 in Scott County, Va., a daughter of the late James W. and Odessa Jennings McClellan. She was a homemaker and attended Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City, Va. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. In addition to her family, she also loved and enjoyed flower gardening and quilting.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carson V. Frazier; sister, May Fraysier; brother, Gladstone McClellan; and half- brother, Harry McClellan.
Survivors include two daughters, Carletta Flanary and husband Charles, Weber City, Va., Brenda Minton and husband Anson, Gate City, Va.; two sons, Larry W. Frazier and wife Ann, Weber City, Va.; John R. Frazier and wife Patti, Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Michele Greenwell, Bob Flanary, Steve Minton, Ronnie Flanary, Suzanne Williams, Michael Frazier, Carla Clements, Sherry Lark and Amanda Dougherty; 12 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Betty Carter and husband Edward, Kingsport, Tenn., Colleen Flanary and husband Dewey, Gate City, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Ruby McClellan, Blountville, Tenn., Nell McClellan, Gate City, Va.; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Calling hours will be Friday (Dec. 22, 2006) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Ken Pierce and Rev. Steve Collins officiating.
Music will be provided by Salley's Chapel Quartet.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holston View Cemetery. It is requested that those wishing to attend that service meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to the Holston View United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 2278, Weber City, Va. 24290.
Carter-Trent/Scott County funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
