Lenoir, NC- Mr. James "Jimmy" Spencer Edmisten, age 46, of Lenoir, died Thursday, May 15, 2008. A loving father and son, he was born March 24, 1962 in Hagerstown, Maryland, a son of the late Louis Hedrick Edmisten and Lois Moore of Lenoir.

Mr. Edmisten was a U.S. Army veteran and a long distance truck driver.

Other than his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jamie Lee Edmisten of Candler; his son, Spencer Harrison Edmisten and his mother Melissa Curtis of Lenoir; step-daughter, Madison Curtis of Lenoir, 5 sisters, Patsy Sue Hamby and husband Dwight, Kathy Louise Miller, Marianne Shew and husband Larry, all of Lenoir, Linda Sparks and husband Casey of Hudson, Lisa Sparks and husband Michael of Hudson and three brothers, Terry Watson and wife Regina of Lenoir; Bill Edmisten and wife Carolyn of Hudson and Larry Edmisten and wife Joan of Lenoir.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Zack's Fork Baptist Church with Reverend Ronnie Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 at Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir and at other times at the home of Mrs. Lois Moore, 2053 Zack's Fork Road in Lenoir.

Pallbearers will be: Butch Prestwood, Rocky Prestwood, Dwayne Kirby, Darrell Haas, Brian Phillips and Adam Richardson.
