CALVIN — Dora Elizabeth Thompson, age 90, of Calvin, KY passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Christian Care Center in Corbin, KY. She was born November 1, 1923 in Rose Hill, VA, the daughter of the late E. Leonard Pauley and Mary Wilder Pauley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Thompson; sisters: Katherine Ryhmer, Mary Stewart, and Lilly Saylor; brother, Sam Pauley; and grandson, Ronald Thompson.
She is survived by her daughters: Georgia (Bud) Shadowens and Alma Thompson; grandchildren: Patricia Pridemore, Kevin Thompson, Sharon Lawson, Barbara Menne, Jay Shadowens, Scott Shadowens, and Doug Shadowens; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clint Goodin officiating. Interment will follow in Cubbage Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
