Funeral services for Joseph B. Penrod, 69, of 402 South Church Street, were held Sunday In Townsend Brothers Chapel. Burial was In North View Cemetery, and the Rev W. P. Smithson was the officiating minister Pallbearers were Carlus Gay. Hugh Moore Sr., N. G. Bracewell. John Williams, Foy Williams and Martin Willis. Mr. Penrod died Friday after a long Illness. A native of Missouri, he had been a resident of Dublin for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order and of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church. He was married to the late Annie Mae Barron, who died about four weeks ago. Survivors Include one son, W. D. Penrod, of St. Louis, Mo., and two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Wllloughby of Dublin and Miss Willie Penrod, of Salinas, Calif. Eight grandchildren also survive. Mr. Penrod was a retired construction worker.
