Son of Mike Mazuran and Mary Vranes

Husband of Nedra Lucille Anderson and Evelyn Blood

Paul Michael Mazuran passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 1995 after a brief illness.

Paul was born November 28, 1916 in Midvale, Utah, a son of Mike and Mary Vranes Mazuran. He was married March 24, 1951 to Evelyn Blood Sims. Paul attended school in Midvale, graduating from Jordan High School where he excelled in tennis and was one of the great high school basketball players of his time. Because of the early death of his father, Paul turned down scholarships to play college basketball, and instead worked to support his family and to help his mother raise his younger brothers and sister. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying hunting and fishing with his friends. For many years, Paul was the owner and manager of Trail Sports Center in Murray. Prior to that he served as a Salt Lake County Sheriff deputy under Sheriff George Beckstead. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann M. and Steve P. Zupan of Midvale; brother and sister-in-law, John M. and Dorothy Mazuran of Palm Desert, California; a son by a former marriage, Michael and wife, Cody; also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lou Jean M. Blood, Alan B. and Kay H. Blood, David J. and Hazel B. Ellison and Alice H. Mazuran; six grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph M. Mazuran.

Paul dedicated his life in love and devoted service to Evelyn and his family and was an immediate and lasting friend to everyone he met.

Funeral services Saturday, January 6, 1996, 12:30 p.m., Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of choice.
