Obituary for Edward Worley
Edward Worley, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away on Friday morning, May 16, 2014 at his residence.

Edward was born on January 1, 1933 in Bartow County to the late Lloyd Pirkle Worley and Kathryn Crowe Worley. He has been a resident of Gordon County since 1961, and was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he had been an Associate Professor of the Agriculture Department. He was also the past President of the Rotary Club and Lions Club, on the Board of Directors of the North West Georgia Electrical Membership Corporation, and served in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Worley Claiborne.

He is survived by his wife, Martha McCoy Worley of Calhoun; son, Keith Worley and his wife Carolyn of Chickamauga; two daughters, Stacy Timms and her husband Terry of Calhoun, and Heather Hansard and her husband Joe of Calhoun; brother, Glenn Worley of Cartersville; four sisters, Esther Worley of Cartersville, Christine Toems of Cartersville, Ruby Cagle and her husband Junior of Taylorsville, Ruth Keys of Cartersville; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, May 18th at 3:00pm at Calhoun First Baptist Church with the Dr. John Barber and Dr. John Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers serving will be Noah Offutt, Andrew Timms, Alex Worley, Joe Hansard, Adam Offutt, Dustin Ivey, and Matt Warren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
