Ella Mae Austin "Mother" died on January 13, 2008, after a short illness at the Hubbard Hospice House.
She was born March 10, 1922, to Arthur Black and Mattie L. Varner, one of two sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by William J. Austin, her husband. She leaves to mourn, a daughter, Alice L. Fields of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Clarence B. Adams of Orrville, Ala.; a host of grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1530 Third Ave., Charleston.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preston Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
