Robert J. Grant Jr. of New Milford, CT, past away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Saturday September , 13, 2014. He was 64.
Mr. Grant was born October 4, 1949 in New Milford, CT, son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Alice (Roberts) Grant. He married Janice Darrah on Feb. 13, 1975 in Brookfield, CT. Mr. Grant served in the Navy for 23 yrs. and retired in Nov. of 1990 as a Chief Warren Officer 3, then worked in HVHC for the State of Connecticut for 20 years.
He was a member of the Faith Church in New Milford and the New Milford VFW Post #1672.
He is survived by his wife Janice Grant of New Milford, CT, his sons Robert J. III and Jason Grant of New Milford, CT, two daughters, Robin Lounsbury and her husband Michael of Danbury, CT and Suzanne Sobrinho of Australia, a brother Roger Grant of NC, four sisters, Becky Lutrus of Concord, VT, Tina Davenport of Chatsworth, GA, Gail Grant of Waterbury, CT and Lynn Cousino of Goose Creek, SC, a grandson David Klien of Newtown, CT, and his mother in law Lois Darrah of Bethel, CT.
Calling hours will be held on Tues. Sept. 16 from 5 to 8 pm at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St. New Milford, CT. A funeral service will be held on Wed. Sept. 17, 2014, 11 am at the Lillis Funeral Home. Internment will follow in Center cemetery in New Milford.
