DANIEL ALDRICH
The funeral of Daniel "Danny" Aldrich, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Aldrich, Davenport, was held Aug. 11 at St. Andrew Presbyterian church, Davenport. Burial was at 4 p.m. in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Daniel died Aug. 7 at University hospitals, Iowa City. He was one of only 20 persons in the world known to suffer from a rare ailment known as "pseudo hershprungs" a malady for which there is no known cure. Although the illness required special medical treatment, Daniel was able to live at home with his family most of the time. He was to enter the eighth grade this fall at Sudlow Junior high school, Davenport, where he had been active in the chorus program.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Michael of Davenport and Timothy of the home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bender, and maternal great-grandfather, James C. Bender, all of Monticello.
