Chaffee - Charles Elgin Howell, 48 years old, of Chaffee, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack while visiting at the John Harris home here.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, at Chaffee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Howell.
He served with the Army in 1948 and 1949, and was a truck driver before ill health forced his retirement.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Karen Chamness and Mrs. Donna Richmond; his parents; brothers, William Jr., Harvey and Leo A. Howell; sisters, Mrs. Sally Kinder and Mrs. Irene Schuette; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Burial will be in the Union Park Cemetery here.
