KAYSVILLE--Verl B. Hutchings, 76, passed away June 8, 1996 at his home.
He was born August 13, 1919 in Springville, Utah, a son of Shepherd B. and Ellen O. Johnson Hutchings. He has lived and stayed in Spanish Fork, Icelandic Community and Kaysville for the past 52 years. He was a member of the Kaysville 1st LDS Ward, and served in the Sunday School and as a home teacher.

He married Colleen Warren January 6, 1943 in Colorado, Springs, Colorado. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as a mechanic. Verl was willing to help and fix anything for anyone. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army, serving three years in the Pacific.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen; two daughters, Bonnie Kay (Josep) of West Yellowstone, Wyo.; Gwenn (Steven) Sartor, Layton; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Clifford Hutchings, Yakima, Wash.; Robert (Mary Lou) Hutchings, Spanish Fork; and Carl (Ann Lou) Hutchings, Loa; one sister, Barbara (Gordon) Cambridge, Rancho Cordova, Calif. He is preceded in death by sisters, Alberta Newell, Velma Francom, and a brother, Jack Hutchings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 1996 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family will meet Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
