GRAYLING - Imilda Mary (Grassley) Stahl age 103 of Lovells, MI passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Northern Pines in Grayling, MI.

Imilda was born on August 5, 1917 in Monroe, MI. She was the daughter of Delia ( Kinne) and Amos Grassley who lived on a farm on W. Albain Rd. She graduated from Monroe High School Class of 1936. Imilda married Lloyd Stahl on August 28, 1937. Lloyd passed on July 30, 2000. They were married almost 63 years.

They had 3 sons, William ( Bill) died 4/ 9/ 1999; David (Dave) died 4/20/2012; Thomas ( Tom) who lives in Florida with his wife Melinda. Her Siblings have all passed: Amos ( Arlington) Grassley, Helen Grant, Francis Duty, Elizabeth ( Betty) Naus, and Alma Schmelz.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church when in Monroe and a member of the Lovell's Community Church in Lovells, MI and also of the Cheerful Givers Ladies Group at the church. She was a member of the Hook and Trigger Club of Lovells, MI. She volunteered at Mercy Memorial Hospital for a time in the 60's and 70's caring for babies in the nursery.

She always had a big garden with all kinds of vegetables and she loved flowers. You could always find her outside in the garden or looking after her flowers.

Imilda and Lloyd lived out at Bolles Harbor on the lake and retired to Lovells, MI on the North Branch of the AuSable River. She lived there until her 100th birthday and then moved to assisted living at Northern Pines in Grayling, MI.

Imilda liked to do Sudoku and puzzles and had a small flower garden at the residence.

She was looking forward to her 104th birthday party this year. She wanted to outlive her mother who was 103 when she died. Imilda almost made it, she was 40 days short of her 104th birthday.

She will be missed and loved by all who knew her in her long life. Imilda leaves to cherish her memory, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Survivors include her son Tom (Melinda) Stahl of Florida, Daughterin- Law Charlene (Char) of Monroe, MI.;
Grandsons: Jeffrey (Carol) Stahl of Monroe, MI,
Brett Stahl ( Stephanie Lauck) of Maryland,
Chad ( Pam) Stahl of Georgia,
Erik (Shannon) Stahl of Florida,
Clay Stahl of Florida;
Granddaughters: Trisha (Chris) Greene of Florida, Heather (Scott) Hesington of New York;
Great-Grandchildren:
Jarrod, Michael, and Jenna Stahl of Monroe, MI,
Jolee Stahl, Kayla and Cole Greene of Florida,
Nickolas, Christopher and Ryan Stahl of Georgia,
Skyler Hesington of New York and many loving nieces and nephews.

Imilda will be deeply missed and will always be loved in the hearts of her loved ones. God has her in his hands now.

She was a true woman of faith. Her gentle touch remains upon the hearts of those who loved her best.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 8th at Lovell's Community Church and a private burial will follow.
