Son of Chester and Almira (Cady) Pellett, grandson on the maternal side of Pascal and Hannah (Akins) CADY, of Huguenot descent.
On 1 Apr 1849 Archibald, 21, married Caroline Hill, daughter of Arthur Hill, at North Brookfield, MA. They had at least four children.
On 12 Jul 1861 Archibald, a shoemaker, mustered into service with Company F, of the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, being credited to the quota of North Brookfield, MA. He was 34 years, 2 months and 10 days old.
He was one of six brothers who served: in 1862 John Chester Pellett his elder brother, enlisted in Co. E, 11th Vermont Volunteers, serving some two years until he was wounded at Charlestown, Virginia.
On 22 Jul 1862 James P. Pellett his younger brother, enlisted in the 5th Connecticut Infantry, and was captured at Chancellorsville. Having been returned he reenlisted and served to the end of the war.
On 4 Aug 1862 Lewis T. Pellett his younger brother, enlisted in Co. B, 36th Massachusetts Vol. Infantry, and served to the end of the war.
Pascal Pellett his younger brother, served in the 5th Connecticut Infantry and 1st Connecticut Cavalry, and was wounded at Cedar Mountain, Virginia.
Francis E. "Frank" Pellett his younger brother, served in the 1st Connecticut Cavalry.
On 15 Nov 1862 Archibald ended military service with the 15th Massachusetts by discharge for disability,
Archibald and Caroline Hill were divorced at Windham County, Connecticut, sometime after 1870 according to Windham County court records.
In 1886 Archibald S. Pellett was included in the Civil War memorial publication at North Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
He died on 18 Apr 1891 at Canterbury, Windham County, Connecticut. He was 63 years, 11 months and 16 days old.
