She was born March 14, 1942 at Bollinger Hospital in Charleston, AR to Margaret Smith Daniels and Arthur Henry Daniels.
She was a 1960 graduate of Charleston High School and a 1964 graduate of the U. of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. She started her career working in Stanford, CT, then moved and lived in New York City for 15 years, working at Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Hospital. She returned to Arkansas and the farm of her parents in 1980, working at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in medical records and retiring in 1999. Her favorite job of all was working as a CNA with Area Agency on Aging after her first retirement. She loved animals and her flower gardens where she spent endless hours. Her cattle, sheep, goats, horses, dogs and wild birds were her life’s passion.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Margaret “Maggie” Daniels.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ashworth of Fort Smith; a nephew, Dr. Chris Ashworth of Fort Smith; and a niece, Debbie and David Hoffman of Rudy; and two great-nephews, Cameron and Conner Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary services at 7:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2014 at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
Mass of Roman Catholic burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 1:00 PM with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
Pallbearers will be Tony Moore, David Hewitt, John Groen, Scott Aldrich, Donald Smith, and Mike Smith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Duck Wilson.
