1. ABBOTT - Mr G M "Max" Abbott, age 68, husband of Mrs Katherine Abbott, father of Alice Kimball and Miss Mary Abbott, one grandchild. Funeral Saturday, February 12, 10 AM, Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 East Washington Street. Calling after 3 PM Friday.
2. G M "MAX" ABBOTT, 68, Indianapolis, a shoe salesman and retailer and lifetime Indianapolis resident, died Thursday in St Francis Hospital Center. Services will be held at 10 PM Saturday in Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, where friends may call from 3 to 9 PM today. Mr Abbott was founder and owner of State Side Shoe Company and retired as a salesman for Genesco of Nashville, Tn, in 1976. Born at Greensburg, he lived most of his life in Indianapolis and was past president of Indiana Shoe Traveler Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Genesco Sales Honor Society, board member emeritus of Indiana Shoe Traveler Association, Franklin Township Historical Society and Greensburg Christian Church. He also had run for state Senate and House of Representatives in Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Abbott, and two daughters, Alice Kimball and Mary Abbott.
3. G M "MAX" ABBOTT - Services for G M "Max" Abbott, 68, were held Saturday at Shirely Brothers Irving Hill Chapel. He died February 3 in St Francis Hospital Center. A native of Greensburg, he lived most of his life in the Indianapolis area. A 1935 graduate of Acton High School, he was on the basketball team for two years, and was named to one of the all - sectional teams in 1935. Mr Abbott was owner and founder of State Side Shoe Company and retired as a salesman for Genesco of Nashville, Tn, in 1976. He was past president of Indiana Shoe Traveler Association, a member of Genesco Sales Honor Society and board member emeritus of Indiana Shoe Traveler Association. He was also a member of Greensburg Christian Church and the Franklin Township Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Abbott; two daughters, Alice Kimball and Mary Abbott, and an aunt, Mrs Frank Huntington.
