He was the husband of Vivian (Hutton) Young, to whom he was married to for 65 years. Mr. Young was born March 16, 1913, in Red Lion. He was the son of the late Adam and Lily Young.
He was a 1933 graduate of Red Lion High School. Mr. Young was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Sea Bees U.S. Naval Construction Battalion Detachment 1029. He was employed at the Red Lion Cabinet Factory and Redco for more than 25 years. Mr. Young was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion. He was also a member of the Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and Red Lions Club.
In addition to his wife,Mr. Young is survived by a daughter, Vicki Fitz of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; two granddaughters, Christi Tollinger of York and Tami Gardner of Reno, Nev.; and six grandchildren. At the request of Mr. Young, there will be no viewing or service. Arrangements are by Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Preston's memory to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
