Lieutenant-Colonel John Ross Reid O’Farrell CD, passed away at Central Okanagan Hospice House, Kelowna British Columbia. He was born in Quebec City, to John Patrick O’Farrell and Bertha Derome. Both his parents died at relatively young ages and he was a mentor to his brothers and sisters. He had a long distinguished military career retiring as a Lieutenant-Colonel. He had a second career as personnel director in the retail industry. He lived in many places (Quebec, Halifax, Kingston, Ottawa, Paris, Edmonton, Montreal and Kelowna). He enjoyed golf, fishing and travel. He was a wonderful husband and father of five boys. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years and sons, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother and three sisters.
Sadly preceded by brother Myles O’Farrell, sister Patricia Taylor and grandson Tyler O’Farrell.
Interment to take place in the National Field of Honour, Pointe-Claire, Québec -
