On Tuesday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Kite, funeral services were held for Isaac H. Lewis, aged and respected resident of Dorcas. Death came May 1 after a prolonged illness. The deceased had reached the ripe age of 91 years, 6 months and 9 days. He was born on October 23, 1847.
He is survived by one brother, Johnson, of Columbus, Ohio; by the following children, Mrs. frank Williams, of Elkins; Mrs. Perry Riggleman, of Davis; Mrs. S.S. Cook and Mrs. Walter Kite, both of Dorcas; Mrs. Elmer Carr, of Ridgeley; Lester, of Ridgeley, and Snowden, of Lewisburg; by 14 grandchildren and by one great-grandchild, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. His wife, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and 4 children preceded him in death.
Many years ago he united with the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Masonville of which he remained a faithful and respected member. On the occasion of his 90th birthday the congregation arranged a special service in his honor.
Funeral services were conducted by his pastor Rev. George William Strobe and burial made in the family burial place. A large number of folks assembled to pay a last tribute of love and respect to his memory. Pallbearers were Arlie Simmons, Edwin Smith, Elmer Carr, Frank Williams, Walter Kite and Frank Sites. Appropriate hymns during the service were sung by Miss Edna M Sites, Mrs. Edwin Smith, Mrs. Herman Kite and Mrs. Jesse Sites.
