DIANNE TYSON KING

MADISON – Dianne Tyson King, 81, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Catherine's Village. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Mrs. King was born March 12, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only daughter of John Frank Tyson and Eva Napier Tyson. Dianne was married to James Albert King III (Jimmie) of Egypt in 1957. They had two children, James A. King IV (Jay) and Molly King Chew.

Dianne was the valedictorian of her Paschal High School class of 1951 and majored in Geology at Texas Christian University. She worked as a geologist for Stalin Oil Company in Midland, Texas, briefly, before moving to Mississippi. Mrs. King obtained her teaching certificate and taught science in the Aberdeen Public School system for many years. A much loved teacher, she was also a talented artist and seamstress. Dianne loved to travel and spend time with friends and family.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son. She is survived by her daughter, Molly (Mike) of Canton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lauren Brannin King of Columbus, Ga., James A. King V of Roanoke, Va., Stephen Chew (Katie) of Ridgeland, David Chew of Madison and Ellen Chew of Columbus. Her brother, Pat Tyson (Peggy) of Steilacoom, Wash., also survives her.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to the nurses, other caregivers, and staff at St. Catherine's Village, Siena Center, who cared so beautifully and compassionately for Dianne during the last several years of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's by the Lake Episcopal Church, Brandon, MS, St. John's Episcopal Church, Aberdeen, MS, or St. Catherine's Village, Madison, MS.
