Before her marriage she worked as a housekeeper for Dr. George McQuibbon in Alma and played on the Alma Baseball Team. Jessie wrote "The Alma News " for the Drayton Community News for many years. Some of her hobbies included amateur botany, quilting and tatting. The family attended the Alma Presbyterian Church.
