Larry B. McCallister
ANSTED - Larry B. McCallister, 68, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill.

Mr. McCallister was born May 4, 1934, at Decota, and was the son of the late Marshall and Evelyn Starkey McCallister.

Mr. McCallister was a member of the St. Pauls United Methodist Church at Ansted, a member of the Gauley Bridge VFW, the Ansted Knights of Pythia. He was a retired Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a P.O.W.

Mr. McCallister had worked as a property manager for a housing development.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott McCallister.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Ansted; a daughter, Kimberly Lewis of Charleston; six sons, Mickey McCallister of Wake Field, Kan., Mitchell McCallister of Kansas, Danny McCallister of Junction City, Kan., Larry McCallister of Gulf Shore, Ala., Marty McCallister of Kansas and Gregory Brewer of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Gloria Bounds of Mt. Lookout; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Rev. Billy Cornell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor, with the Gauley Bridge VFW performing military rites.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted.
