1657: When William Thompson deeded his property in 1657, Middlesex was still part of Lancaster County, VA. : "I WILLM. THOMPSON of Rapa: in ye County of Lancaster in Virginia for ... One hundred & fifty acres being ye outermost halfe a cros ye bredth of three hundred acres of land granted by Pattent unto JOHN SHARPE & now in ye possession of WILLM. TOMSON, lying on South side of Rapa: River."
1659: 24 May 1659. Ordered that a heifer named Bramble marked with a crop on the left ear & a hole & a square on the right ear and left by Peter Montague decd to the child of William Thompson his son-in-law, be recorded for the use of that child. p 84.
1674: William Cheney named as legal guardian of Elizabeth Thompson, orphan of William Thompson (from Lancaster County Order books)
1675: 10 Jan 1675. John Summers as marrying Elizabeth Thompson, one of the orphans of William Thompson decd. Book 1, p 49.
1679: There is a document ordering Mr. Thos. Hasellwood to pay Willm. Cheyney "as guardian of William Thompson . . ."
March 1686/7: the will of William Thompson [Jr.] was presented to court by Abraham Brierly and John Sumers "in Right of Eliz. his Wife, Sister of the said Thompson."
1686: 9 Mar 1686/7. Administration of the estate of William Thompson is granted to his sister Elizabeth Sumers and her husband John Sumers. Book 2, p 281

Adventurers of Purse & Person by Dorman, p. 655 says she died 29 May 1722.
Some unsourced family trees show her death as 1693, accompanied by this statement:
"Before 1 Oct 1694 in Middlesex Co, VA. John Summers married his second wife Ann."(source of statement unknown).
