Rita died at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital. She was born in Bagnell, the daughter of Jake and Jessie Woolley Gier.

She was married Nov. 15, 1938, in Versailles, to Leonard D. Bunch, who died Oct. 19, 1993.

A lifetime resident of the Bagnell community, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bagnell Baptist Church, and most recently attended the First Baptist Church of Eldon.

Survivors include: one son, Darrell Bunch, Eldon; four daughters, Joan Taylor, Kay Pace and Fonda Bunch, all of Eldon, and Arlinda Martien, Godfrey, Ill.; one sister, Irmina Dowers, Eldon; one brother, Harley Gier, Russellville; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. One daughter, Carol Janet Bunch, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
